About Hillary

I’m Hillary Herzig, a Monmouth County resident, mother of three, and spouse of a U.S. Army Veteran. I’ve dedicated my life to public and civil service, working across multiple city and federal agencies to support our military families, veterans, and national security.

After earning my Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University, I served as the Executive Assistant to the Chief of Police in Key West, Florida -  from there, I continued my public service with the U.S. Army as a civil servant in Intelligence and Security Operations, taught military dependent children through the Department of Defense Education Activity while stationed  in Germany as a U.S Army Spouse, and later served in the Veterans Administration, United States Department of Agriculture - Animal, Plant and Health Inspection Service, and most recently within the Department of Homeland Security at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in Mission Support of Asylum and Personnel Security with a focus on National Security.

In 2022, my family and I traveled the country, experiencing firsthand the beauty of America and the importance of strong families, strong communities, and the freedoms that make our country exceptional. We returned to the Garden State to raise our children near the same beaches, neighborhoods, and schools that shaped me.

 

I attended elementary, middle, and high school in the Garden State and my roots, my family, and my values have always been here in New Jersey.

I’m running for Congress because New Jersey deserves representation rooted in service, accountability, and love for our state.

The Incumbent in New Jersey's District 6 has been in Congress for 32 years — and our communities have not become stronger, safer, freer, or more affordable.

It’s time for leadership that puts New Jersey First — our families, our future, and our identity.
